I can’t think of many words that are more fascinating than the two words HOME and HOLE. After spending a few years trying to exhaust all possibilities of interpretation, deconstruction and permutation – resulting in various piles of words, text pieces, sound pieces, book works, installations, performances (and many more rejects) I decided to open up the debate.
A hole is a home is a hole is my home is your home is my hole is your home…..

Over 3 years (between 2000 and 2003) various audiences in London were asked to contribute their own views on the two words HOME and HOLE in blank books stamped with IDEAL HOME, IDEAL HOLE and IDEAL HO E.
Here are ninety of the best and the worse contributions. I am still amazed to see how a small blank space between the O and the E of IDEAL HO E could generate such enthusiasm.
