A two-track digital album released by kvieto (Finland)
Composed by Jukka-Pekka Kervinen for Emmanuelle Waeckerlé
Performed remotely by
Jukka-Pekka Kervinen (cello, clarinet, glockenspiel, piano, field recording)
Emmanuelle Waeckerlé (voice)
These two works are the fruits of a first collaboration with Jukka-Pekka Kervinen based in North Keralia in Finland. The contrast between their respective abode, a cold and windy northern wilderness and a milder gentler urban south translates well in these two slow moving works where voice and instruments inhabit and bring a certain warmth to wintery field recordings.
The 2 compositions are inspired by Kervinen’s memories of KLANGRAUM 2023 in Dusseldorf where the two first met, and include some of the tones played with his pocket sax/mini clarinet that she responded to, during performances of her pandemonic ‘What is left if we are not the world’ (2022).
