A video installation
Stripping down the ritual of the social visit to its bare minimum
This video performance is based on the conventional dialogue that takes place when two human beings meet. These well known sentences are repeated endlessly by the performer who gradually becomes both the visitor and the visited.
THE VISIT (2000)
single screen projection – 8 mins
In the installation the viewer sits down in front of a monitor where the video is shown, thus taking on the role of a visitor; one who cannot speak, because his/her lines have already been spoken.
