PAUSE
(a journey in through and against time)
performance
2000

Duration 30 minutes
The performance is about Time passing and passing Time.
The performer, on stage, is voicing her story counting each second between words while tearing up the pages of the pad attached to her face. This simultaneous action represents an impossible task in itself and requires great concentration. Timing and synchronicity can only go wrong.

She has to accept the inevitability of losing control and attempts time and time again to regain control of herself and her story.

Performed for East end collaborations at St Mary’s and Westfield in London in June 2000.
