BOUCHE BÉE?(/bu? be/)
improvisation on the edges of language

2014 – current

Petri Huurinainen (acoustic guitar, objects)
Emmanuelle Waeckerlé (voice, tabla)

Bouche Bée is a French expression meaning “ to stand open-mouthed, stunned, speechless, gaping and gawping ”.
After a few years break BOUCHE BÉE came back to life in 2014 as a completely analogue and acoustic outfit.
Free and structured improvisation bringing in dialogue E.W vocal repertoire of extended human inarticulation and non-verbal sounds with P.H brief melodies, looped rhythms, and odd noises. Voice and guitar respond to or (mis) lead one another, but always react in the moment, resulting in an authentic and unpredictable encounter shared with an audience.

19/09 /15 Joy of sound festival, St Peters Church, Vauxhall London,
4/10/15 ACAVA open studios, Bermondsey, London,
28/02/2015 Lucie's Lounge (6), Bloomsbury tavern, London

Between 2006 and 2010, Bouche Bee performed in the UK, France, Austria, Singapore and Spain, sometimes alone sometimes in dialogue with VINST.
